Kathy is the Warped Weaver
and the Dizzy Spinner
and the Wet Fingered Felter
I started this business back in 1993. (WOW 20 years ago.) I traded a kiln for a 4 harness jack loom. Now I cannot count the looms there are so many. A few in storage as I do not have enough space to set them up.
I have been teaching weaving, spinning and felting for quite a few years now. I love working with students of all ages and abilities. One of my favorite teaching places was http://cirfun.org/etc.taf CIR is a wonderful orginization that levels the playing field so everyone can play together.
I have also taught one on one, family groups, guilds, and other orginizations.
When I am not teaching I am producing hand woven shawls and scarves, rugs, alpaca fiber batts and hand spun yarns.
As always in our lifetimes things change. I am in the middle of a large life change right now. I have just purchased a studio space in Buckley, MI It is between Cadillac and Traverse City. I am in the process of setting it up. Because of my move to wonderful Northern Michigan I have for the last two years been teaching on smaller looms. Now I can offer a full range weaving experience to my students. I have also added the Navajo Spindle to my classes. What a wonderful way to learn how to spin for a fraction of the cost.
